What does Double R gifts stand for you ask? One would just assume the it stands for Rail Road Crossing or some other reference to the railroad but the real meaning behind the name comes from Billy and Ben Rosenberg’s mothers name Robin Rosenberg. When Fred Rosenberg came up with the grand vision that is now Barstow Station someone had to run the main floor gift shop and that someone was Robin. At the time of the opening the name was Robin’s Nest. She made several trips to the Mexican border to fill the store with Mexican pottery, there was plush items, California souvenirs, gifts of all types, lotions potions, clothing and much, much more for her customers. Today Billy and Ben use a play on words to remember their mother everyday.
